I like to interact with people from across the world and to know about their culture, language, travel interests. I am passionate about nature. In my free time I enjoy outdoor activities of all kinds. In the summer amongst other things, I love to hike, mountain bike and go kayaking. In the winter, I love to snowshoe and watch the northern lights. My professionality is also based on a long career in information technology, serving in an international company as a technical specialist. This has given me the opportunity to travel around Europe, the USA and Asia. As well as being an experienced Nature and Wilderness Guide, I am also a Golden Badge Guide (the ultimate qualification in guiding in Finland). I am also a Licenced City of Helsinki and a Licenced Suomenlinna Unesco World Heritage Guide, the City of Hyvinkää and Tuusula Guide, so wherever we go you'll be in good hands. My aim is to provide you with enthusiastic informative private tours which ensure that your Helsinki and Finland experience will be the best. My bespoke tours include walking tours or biking tours, tours by a private car, a van or a minibus. Within Helsinki we can cover the major sites or explore less well-known districts in the countryside like Nuuksio or Sipoonkorpi Wilderness areas, the picturesque small town of Porvoo, nearby towns like Tuusula and Hyvinkää are a few of the many wonderful places that can be easily reached in a day trip. My tours are very flexible in content and timing and I can adapt easily to your preferences and suggestions. Hi I am a professional Helsinki Tourist Guide qualified to guide throughout the whole of Helsinki including Suomenlinna Fortress Unesco World Heritage site. In a previous life I was a tour guide in Greece, Spain and Italy, so I am more than experienced with both large and small groups. I am especially interested in Scandinavian history, art, architecture, design, Jean Sibelius, cycling, hiking, meeting people and. . . . sauna! My tours can be tailored to suit my customers' needs and interests, e.g. day trips to medieval city of Porvoo, surrounding countryside or the National Park of Nuuksio and heritage sauna tours can also be arranged on request. I am positive and friendly. I enjoy meeting new people and do everything I can to help guests to make the most of their visit in Helsinki. I have been told by guests on my tours that I have a great sense of humor and really know my stuff. I also provide accessible tours for elderly with a wheelchair accessible vans.

Welcome to visit the world´s happiest nation, Finland! Seven years in a row has Finland been ranked to be the happiest nation in the world. Besides being a safe, clean country with honest people, we have a fascinating history of being part of Sweden and Russia for centuries. My passion is history and our beautiful nature, and I cannot wait to introduce you to our beautiful seaside capital Helsinki. I have a long history in tourism, I put my heart to serve you a wonderful tour in Helsinki. I have been a licensed Helsinki guide since 2006, a former Finnair flight attendant, and I work as a tour leader in Spain, Portugal, and Finnish Lapland. Finland

Hi, I am Nina. My guiding career begins from Lapland from 1995, where I made my first tours for example at the touristic icebreaker Sampo. Since 1996 I have lived in Helsinki. Before I become Helsinki Guide 2003, I guided also in the Parliament House, Helsinki Museum of Art (HAM) and Museum of the Cultures. Since 2003 as Helsinki authorized guide I have made all kind of tours by bus, taxi, bike, boat, tram and of course by walking in Helsinki, Espoo and the surroundings like Porvoo, and Tuusulanjärvi. I have also specialised to guide groups of children. As a tour leader I have worked in Finland and taken groups by train to St.Petersburg, Russia. I was also as a tour leader in China 2005-2008. I love languages and different cultures and speak also Swedish, Russian and Chinese as well German and a bit Spanish. I am interested in history, design and architecture--hope you are too! My special interest is to do tours on an sustainable way, for example by walking and utilizing an existing excellent public transportation in Helsinki area. As many Finns, I am also interested in recycling and second hand shops, which sell vintage or modern but recycled clothes/ items.

Wonderful local perspective of Tokyo life

My partner and I had a wonderful tour with Akira. We visited the Imperial Palace gardens, walked through local neighborhoods, and had fresh drip coffee from independent shop Aoyama Coffee Roaster. We had a great local lunch, visited a local ceramics store, and concluded with the freshest fruit from the local market. Akira was a great host - we appreciated sharing his personal perspective on Japanese history, culture, and customs. It was one of the highlights of our trip, and we highly recommend a tour with Akira. Get off the tourist trail, and see more of the real Tokyo. Thanks Akira!

Dear Oliver, Thank you so much for the great review. I am so happy that you enjoyed the tour. Your (and Viviana's) kind, generous, and sincere behavior brought you all the great things that we experienced that day, especially when we exchanged with local people whom I love. I will let them know that you two had a real great time and I am sure that they will be pleased. I tried to add more personal and human touch on this tour as much as I could and I am so happy that it worked and you liked it. Thank you so much for letting me be myself and I am looking forward to another chance to explore my loving city together. Sincerely, Akira

Excellent tour of Hiroshima

Kazumi gave my family an outstanding tour of Hiroshima. We got a good feel of the city and sites in a short amount of time. Kazumi is kind, pleasant, and knowledgeable. We all enjoyed spending time with her and learning about the city's history together. Kazumi took us to Miyajima Island where we visited the Torii Gate, Itsukushima Shrine, and Daishoin Temple. Then we took the ferry back to the city where we saw the Atomic Bomb Dome, Peace Park and Peace Museum. Kazumi was helpful in prioritizing what to visit during our short stay in the city. She is easy to talk to and was a pleasure to spend time with. We highly recommend Kazumi as a tour guide!

The Absolute Best Super Guide!

Our first time visiting Japan this summer was an unforgettable experience, and we very much attribute those memories to our time with Keiko as our guide in Tokyo. We got very lucky that Keiko was available when we decided last minute to book a guide for our first time in Tokyo. From the get-go, she was quick to respond on email offering any help all the way up until the moment we met her at our hotel for our first day out on the town where she whipped out a typed-out itinerary. She narrated fun and interesting factoids for each landmark as if she was a relative who was hosting us. We knew right away that we hit the jackpot with such an experienced and professional guide. What we didn't expect was how fondly we would become attached to her. Her warmth, humor and down-to-Earth quality got us bonding through our shared meals and venturing the city. From being our translator to offering advice and tips on navigating the city's public transport, she was always looking out for us like a relative or friend. She literally went the distance in helping out when we sprinted on foot to the JR Station before it closed so she can help with last-minute train tix purchases. Then even after our verklempt goodbye, she continued to be available, checking in to see how were were faring at our next destination and advising on weather-related notices. If it weren't for her, we may have missed our flight and been stuck grounded by the typhoon. We could not have asked for a better, more caring and personable guide. Keiko's lasting impression on a family truly made this a special trip. I'm beyond grateful to have met her and can't wait to go back to see her again!
