Hi, I am Nobu, a national certified tour guide. My main areas as a guide are Tokyo and its Suburbs including Nikko, Hakone and Mt. Fuji. I can also guide you in Chiba, Ibaraki and Kanagawa. Many people arrive at Narita Airport, but directly go to Tokyo or other areas. However, there are many good places to visit near Narita. I have been living in Chiba for more than 25 years and know about this area including Narita very well. If you arrive at or leave Narita Airport and have a half or full day in Narita, please contact me! I am willing to guide you in this area. Another area I would like to guide you is Tohoku District, including my hometown, Iwate. There are also many good places, but most people do not know about this District. You can easily visit there in 2 hours by Shinkansen (Bullet Train). If you have got a JR pass, you do not Need to worry about transportation fee. If you are interested in this District, please contact me. I can help you to make a plan. I am looking Forward to Meeting you soon in Japan! Nobu

Hello, I’m Hiroyo. I was born and brought up in Shizuoka. After living in Tokyo and in England, eventually I came back to Shizuoka. It is really a good place to live. I have been interested in Japanese traditional culture. I used to be in a Kendo(Japanese fencing) club and a Japanese flower arrangement club when I was a student. I got a degree of Sho-dan(first-dan) in Kendo, and a diploma in follower arrangement. I also got a certificate as a Japanese tea instructor. It would be my great pleasure to help you find out more about Japanese culture. Shizuoka is a lovely place to visit. It has many historical sites, traditional culture, abundant nature and a wide variety of local specialties including green tea, wasabi, many kinds of fruits and sea food fresh from the sea! You will be sure to enjoy them. Hope to see you here in Shizuoka!

Welcome to Shizuoka in the central area of Japan. I was born in Hakone, Kanagawa Pref. and grew up in Izu Peninsula, also studied English at Kanagawa University in Yokohama. After graduation, I have traveled to a lot of countries such as Europe, U, S., Asia and lived in Australia for a year. I had a great time to visit there to have a wonderful experience. So I decided to become a licensed tour guide for introducing Japan to foreign tourists. Now I live in Izu which is close to Mt.Fuji and Hakone. I'm interested in Arts, Hot Springs, traditional places and of course delicious food. I would like to introduce beautiful Izu which has lots of Geopark sites and traditional Hot spring resort "Shuzenji, Nagaoka, and so on. Please Enjoy this area together!! Bienvenidos

Since 2007 I have been an English-speaking tour guide, visiting most of the major sightseeing spots in Japan with international travelers. At the same time I have been working as an translator, mainly dealing with technical documents. Shizuoka prefecture has a number of spots for sightseeing, but they have not been fully covered in English-language travel books or on the Internet. So, as a local tour guide, through the TripleLights services, I am hoping to introduce some of the attractiveness of this region to the international visitors.

I am Fumie Ueda, a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter in Atami, Shizuoka, only 50 minutes away from Tokyo by Shinkansen trains. Atami is conveniently located at the foot of the Hakone mountains, and the base of the Izu Peninsula. It is also close to Mt. Fuji and the Shimizu Port in Shizuoka. I am excited to show you around beautiful places that I love. I grew up in Yokohama, spent 1 year as a high school exchange student in Allentown, PA in the US, went to college and lived/worked in Tokyo for about 10 years before coming to this beautiful onsen resort. After becoming a guide, I met with guests from various backgrounds, and I feel grateful once again, for my experience to be exposed to different cultures in my youth. Let’s have a good time together!

Trip to Mt Fuji from Shimizu Port

Yasuko was ready to chat and advise us about our itinerary through GoWithGuide. On the day before our tour she contacted me through whatsapp so we could confirm the meeting time and as a result, was easy to find at the port. She had already purchased an IC card for us to use which made catching public transport a breeze. We just had to reimburse her on the day. Using public transport was a fantastic experience and the bullet train ride was awesome. Unfortunately Mt Fuji was enveloped in cloud but the other places she took us to were great and without volumes of tourists.

I wish we could have spent several days with Kumiko.

Excellent scheduling and communication. Kumiko was at the cruise ship port waiting for us at the gate, on time and even parked close to the gate. She is friendly, charming and fun to be around. Kumiko has a wealth of information about the history of the region and local culture. She wasted no time in getting us to the ski area so we could ride the cable car to the top. We were able to visit a shrine and enjoy the view of the city. The ski area also included an museum of skiing in the area and the equipment used. Then on to a local Saki brewery for a tour and a sample. Our next stop was the railroad museum. A "must see" if you are interested in railroad history, historic steam power, and the challenges of building railroads in the terrain of northern Japan. Next stop was a local seafood restaurant where we sampled many types of fish and shellfish, both cooked and raw including the local delicacy "uni". Kumiko was able to give us a quick tour of the local fish market. She also drove to some other scenic overlook areas. Last stop was the Otaru Museum. We were back to the cruise ship with time to spare. All the time we spent with Kumiko was delightful and I wish we could have been in port longer and spent a few days with her. Thanks Kumiko!

Hakone and Tokyo music tours

Leandra was a great guide, taking us to see some Funk, Hyperpop, and a fusion of traditional Japanese sounds with electronic elements. The events she chose for us based on our musical preferences exceeded our expectations. For our trip to Hakone Leandra was a great companion and navigated the winding roads of Hakone like a pro. The secret waterfall was a highlight and standing on the top of Mount Kintoki with my son admiring Mount Fuji in the distance will be a life long memory.
