Kamakura was the seat of the Bakufu (feudal government) from the 12th century to the 14th century. Many samurai warriors as well as commoners came and went. Kamakura is surrounded by mountains and they would walk across them. Unfortunately, with urbanization, almost all roads are now paved and widened. But you still can walk on the hill side.
You can walk an old road between Yokohama (Mutsura) and Kamakura. This road is actually the same as the one used in the 12th century.
At one of the following stations: JR East Kamakura Station, Keihin Kyoko Mutsura Station, or Keihin Kyuko Kanazawa Hakkei Station

You can walk an old road between Yokohama (Mutsura) and Kamakura. Along the road, I can explain about the history and background at every point of interest. This tour involves hiking, especially at the hillside. This road is actually the same as the one used in the 12th century and you may feel samurai warriors' spirits. Spring and Autumn may be the best times for this tour, but winter is still good because there are fewer people then. We can visit Kumano-Jinja shirine at the top of the hill which was established by Minamoto no Yoritomo. He was the first Shogun in the Kamakura feudal government.

The hiking path is not so difficult but there are some slippery spots. You should wear appropriate clothes and shoes. Depending on the plan, we may eat lunch outside. If so, you could either bring lunch with you or we could buy something prior to leaving the station.
We may need to cancel if the weather is bad.
Yes, I can but an additional fee may apply.
Yes, you can and let me know where you'd like to go. I can propose a plan.
For example, it costs 1,000JPY from Tokyo station to Kamakura station by JR. This is one way. If you have "Japan Rail Pass for Tokyo wide", it can be used.
Don't worry. There are convenience stores around the stations. You can buy sandwiches, Onigiri (rice balls) and bento boxes. We can buy them together when we meet.

Hi Nikhil. Thank you for your review. It was wonderful time for me, too. Hope you will have more pleasant time during your stay.
Eiichi was very friendly and came well prepared for everything I had communicated to him that I wanted to see and do. His English is excellent and I never felt embarrassed to ask him to repeat or to repeat my questions. I HIGHLY recommend Eiichi to anyone, especially those English speakers, that want a private guide and are interested in Japanese culture.
Scott, thank you for your review. I really enjoyed the tour with you since you helped me a lot. The weather was not so cooperative but I hope you could touch a little bit different aspect of Japan.
