Nagoya is located in the center of Japan with a population of 2.3 million, 4th largest city in Jepan. The number of the tourists visiting Nagoya has been increasing recently.
However, it is still much fewer compared with that of Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. So most tourist spots in Nagoya are not much crowded and you can enjoy sightseeing without any stress in the crowd. I'll guide you first in Nagoya Castle, which was originally built in 1612 by Tokugawa Ieyasu who is the first Shogun of Edo Shogunate.
Main Castle Tower and Main Palace were burnt down in 1945 by air bombing during WWⅡ and restored in 1959 and in 2013, respectively. Main Castle Tower is almost 60 years old and it is to be reconstructed made of wood to be completely same as the original one. Admission to the current Castle Tower will be suspended from May 7 2018 to its completion in December 2022. So it is the last chance to see the current Castle Tower. The last stage of the restoration of Main Palace is almost completed and open to the public on June 8th 2018. Moreover, Kinshachi Yokocho which is modeled after Okage Yokocho in Ise opened in March 2018 on the main gate and east gate sides of the Nagoya Castle premises as areas offering delicious local cuisine unique to Nagoya. Why don't you have a lunch here? Next you go to Osu. Osu is famous for its Buddist Temple. The nearby shopping arcades have been thriving since Edo period with many secondhand stores and street food stalls. Both oldsters and youngsters are hunging out there. You can shopping and get some nice souvenirs there. Osu is similar to Asakusa in Tokyo. Our final destination is Sakae in the central Nagoya, where you can enjoy shoppind, dining and entertainment both daytime and at night. Nagoya TV Tower is the must, where you can enjoy a panoramic view of Nagoya's downtown from its observation deck. Oasis 21 is a new tourist spot ranking second in the Photogenic division by TripAdvisor, where you can take a picture of a SPACESHIP(?).

Michiko guided us hiking from Magome to Tsumago and sightseeing at Kiso Fukushima. She was very patient with the slow hiking members and took good care of them. She was very friendly and interacted well with everyone. She also helped us call the lunch place in advance so that everything is ready just when we arrive.
Dear Stanley, Thank you so much for your highly evaluating me this time. I’m so glad to know that you are pleased with my work during the tour. I really had a terrific time with such wonderful people like you and your tour members. I appreciate your support and consideration. Thanks a lot. Best regards, Michiko
MICHIKO was a very good choice for our group of 6. She was waiting for us at the cruise terminal and guided us to the Toyota Museum and Tokugawa Museum. She told us about the city, it’s history and what we could expect at the museums. We had time to enjoy the exhibits and did not feel rushed. We were all happy with MICHIKO, her knowledge and her English skills.
Dear Genevieve, Thank you so much for such an excellent review. I’m so glad to know that all of you enjoyed Toyota Museum and Tokugawa Museum last Friday. I also really had a delightful time with such wonderful people like you all. I thank you all for your consideration and kindness. Best regards, Michiko
Michiko was our Guide during our time in Nagoya, and she was great providing us an overview of the history of the city and the places we visited (Nagoya Castle, Osu, etc). We also had an amazing traditional lunch with her and spoke more about Japanese life which is one of the key reasons I enjoy meeting with guides wherever I go. She was great with our kids and gave them tons of snacks for the day. As a local Nagoyan resident, she knows the city well, and even helped us get some train tickets afterwards. Highly recommended if you are in Nagoya.

Michiko is an amazing guide and person. She makes sure every detail of your time is perfect. She made sure we did everything we wanted to while navigating us easily through the different train and subways. I would absolutely recommend booking Michiko for your time in the Nagoya area. She also takes amazing pictures (would share some but they are on my husbands phone). Enjoy!
